Share Lunch Fight Hunger 2023: Team Paul Hastings Talent Management
Paul Hastings LLP is pleased to share that we are sponsoring the 21st Annual City Harvest Share Lunch Fight Hunger Online Fundraising Campaign.
City Harvest is New York City’s largest food rescue organization and over the past 40 years has been a reliable food resource to so many New Yorkers in need, especially during times of crisis. City Harvest will rescue 75 million pounds of food this year and deliver it, free of charge, to hundreds of food pantries, soup kitchens and other community partners across the five boroughs. City Harvest works alongside their local community partners to boost community capacity, expand nutrition education, and strengthen local food systems.
Nearly 1.5 million New Yorkers now experience food insecurity, including one in four children, according to a 2021 analysis by Feeding America.
As New Yorkers struggle with rising costs for food, rent, and other necessities, food insecurity in our city remains near historic highs. Visits to New York City food pantries and soup kitchens are up 69% in 2022 compared to 2019—and up 14% just since January 2022 when inflation costs began sending food prices soaring. Even before the pandemic, New York City was facing a profound hunger crisis—particularly in the marginalized communities that City Harvest has long served. Prior to the pandemic, nearly 2.4 million New Yorkers were struggling to make ends meet. Those numbers surged during the pandemic and remain at historic highs.
By supporting Share Lunch Fight Hunger and donating $20, you can help feed 46 kids. Double that donation—now you’re feeding 93 kids.
