Each year, thousands of corporations and individuals in New York City join Share Lunch Fight Hunger with the goal of raising awareness and crucial funds to help City Harvest rescue and deliver nutritious food for families during the summer months, when access to free school meals may become limited. On Wednesday, May 15 a new study from Feeding America revealed the sobering reality that 1 in 4 children in New York City is experiencing food insecurity, up from 1 in 5 in last year’s report.

While inflation is cooling, the cost of living in New York City continues to increase at an unsustainable rate. Food, childcare and housing costs remain high, and vital government supports that kept many families afloat during the pandemic expired last year, making it even harder for New Yorkers to afford fresh, nutritious food. By participating in Share Lunch Fight Hunger, an online fundraising competition, your company or group can help make sure no child in our city goes hungry.

This year’s campaign ran from May 6 to May 17, 2024. Donation links will remain open through June 30 to help feed the 1 in 4 children facing food insecurity in NYC.To learn more, email sharelunchfighthunger@cityharvest.org.

We raised enough to help feed more than 11,100 NYC kids and their families for the entire summer! We'd like to congratulate our top five fundraising teams: our first-place winner is Citi, followed by JPMorgan Chase & Co., Ernst & Young, Paul Hastings LLP, and W. P. Carey. Thank you to everyone who supported the 2024 Share Lunch Fight Hunger campaign!

There were so many amazing stories this year of teams coming together to raise funds and spread awareness around our work. We are proud to present this year's awards to the following teams, whose logos will also appear on our Share Lunch Fight Hunger truck and in a full-page ad in The New York Times on June 12:
