Welcome to Dana Aidekman's Virtual Food Drive!

Hi Friends and Family,
As you know, I have been involved with City Harvest for the past 4 years now. I’m a member of the Generation Harvest committee, a group of young philanthropists who are passionate about City Harvest and its mission to fight hunger in New York City. Throughout the years, I’ve helped them execute many initiatives including Green Market Rescues, serving as Vice Chair for Harvest Happenings, handing out fresh produce at Mobile Markets, and co-chairing Summer in the City. I spend hours and hours of my time with City Harvest each month.
This holiday season I'm starting a virtual food drive. You may be asking yourself, why virtual? Why not ask for cans of soup and other food? Donating to a virtual food drive is over 6 times more effective than donating a canned good. For some quick math, a can of soup costs around $1.79 and provides 1.2 pounds of food. Donating that same $1.79 to City Harvest is enough to rescue and deliver 7.5 pounds food, over a 6x increase.
Nearly 1.3 million New Yorkers are facing hunger. That’s 1 out of every 5 people in our city. Personally, I see them every day. I pass them on my way to work, my morning run, my walk home from an amazing dinner with my friends. This season you can join me in making a difference by supporting City Harvest.
