Dear friends,

As you may know, I’ve been involved with City Harvest for a couple years now. I’m a member of the Generation Harvest committee, a group of young philanthropists who are passionate about City Harvest and its mission to fight hunger in New York City.

Today, nearly 1.2 million New Yorkers struggle to put meals on the table. This year, City Harvest will collect more than 61 million pounds of excess food and will deliver it free of charge to 400-plus soup kitchens, food pantries and other community food programs across the five boroughs. I am proud to help this effort by leading food rescues at the Union Square Greenmarket every other Wednesday. By redirecting this nutritious food from supermarkets, manufacturers, farmers markets, and restaurants to our neighbors in need, we support our local communities and reduce the environmental impact of food that would otherwise go to waste.

From now through the end of the year, I am hosting a virtual food drive (with my boys Harry & Bennett - pictured here) to support City Harvest. My fundraising goal of $5,000 will help feed 632 New Yorkers for a month! To DOUBLE the power, we'll MATCH 100% of donations! I promise it won't be from Bennett or Harry's piggybanks either. For every dollar donated in this years Virtual Food Drive on our page we'll match it on 12/31.
