Thank you for visiting my fundraising page! As you might know, I've been involved with City Harvest for a few years. (You might even be one of the dozens of people who helped me to raise $4,709 last year! Thank you!)

Here is why I am so passionate about City Harvest and its mission. Nearly 1.4 million New Yorkers struggle to put meals on the table. This year, City Harvest will collect more than 64 million pounds of excess food and deliver it to 400-plus soup kitchens and mobile markets and food pantries across the five boroughs. City Harvest feeds our local communities while reducing food waste. 

Henry is now familiar with City Harvest's Food Rescue Facility, where he is an ace at bagging up apples to distribute to families in need, and he's excited to show Charlie the ropes at the next repack. Recently, the boys set up an apple stand in front of our house, and Henry surprised me by pledging their $11 haul to City Harvest. They still can't comprehend that some kids who live nearby are hungry. (More than 515,000 children in NYC live in poverty—that's 30% of kids in the city.)

As an added incentive, Henry and Charlie will send each donor a handpainted postcard with a custom compliment. (If you know Henry you know that he's generous and specific with his compliments.)
