City Harvest is New York City’s largest food rescue organization, helping to feed the nearly 1.5 million New Yorkers who are struggling to put meals on their tables. As we head into the holiday season, the economic toll of the pandemic continues to hit millions of New York City families – many of whom will carry the pain of this crisis for years. Rising food costs and the end of many government supports like extended unemployment benefits are putting a new squeeze on already-struggling New Yorkers. City Harvest is committed to feeding all of our neighbors—one meal, one day, one New Yorker at a time.

During the pandemic, we have rescued and delivered more than 220 million pounds of food to New Yorkers in need -- a far higher rate than ever before in the organization’s more than 35-year history. We expect this high level of need to persist through 2022 and potentially longer. This year, City Harvest is committed to rescuing and delivering more than 100 million pounds of nutritious food to help feed our neighbors. We need your support to continue to help feed the historic number of New Yorkers who are depending on us.

Generation Harvest members have stepped up to help feed NYC this holiday season, with a goal of raising enough to feed nearly 425,000 New Yorkers for a day.
