PEX is thrilled to kick off our Charitable Giving Program by partnering with City Harvest for our first-ever Holiday Virtual Food Drive!

We invite all PEXers to participate by donating to help City Harvest deliver fresh, nutritious food to communities across the five boroughs every day.

To get us started, PEX has already made a donation of $5,000.00.

What is a "Virtual Food Drive"?

Instead of collecting food, a Virtual Food Drive allows us to collect funds online for City Harvest. While traditional food drives are amazing and appreciated, Virtual Food Drives are an easy way for us to raise funds for City Harvest and help feed the millions of New Yorkers who are struggling to fill their plates. Each dollar donated to this drive will help us rescue 4 pounds of food and deliver it to soup kitchens, food pantries and other community food programs across the five boroughs. That's enough food to help feed a family of four for a day!

Who is City Harvest?

City Harvest is New York’s first and largest food rescue organization, helping to feed millions of New Yorkers who struggle to put meals on their tables. As the city emerges from the COVID-19 pandemic, we will rescue 75 million pounds of fresh, nutritious food and deliver it—free of charge—to hundreds of food pantries, soup kitchens, community partners, and our own Mobile Markets across the five boroughs. We work alongside our community partners to boost community capacity, expand nutrition education, and strengthen local food systems. For 40 years, City Harvest has always been there to feed our city—one day, one meal, one New Yorker at a time.

Food Insecurity Facts

As New Yorkers struggle with rising costs for food, rent, and other necessities, food insecurity in our city remains near historic highs.

Visits to New York City food pantries are up 69% in 2022 compared to 2019- and up 14% just since January 2022 when inflation costs began sending food prices soaring. Nealy 1.5 million New Yorkers are struggling to feed themselves and their families right now.
