Making an Impact

City Harvest is New York's first and largest food rescue organization, helping feed millions of New Yorkers who struggle to put meals on their tables. This year, we will rescue and distribute 75 million pounds of nutritious food to our neighbors in need.

23 Trucks

City Harvest delivers this food free of charge to nearly 450 soup kitchens, food pantries and other community food programs across the five boroughs, using a fleet of 23 trucks that are on the road seven days a week.

Hunger, Poverty and Food Waste in NYC

More than 1 in 6 New Yorkers are currently experiencing food insecurity.

Even before the pandemic, 2.4 million New Yorkers were struggling to make ends meet.

1 in 4 children in our city does not always know where their next meal will come from.

In the United States, up to 40% of the food we produce is wasted.

City Harvest has rescued and delivered over one billion pounds of perfectly good food that would have otherwise gone to waste.
