Hi! My name is Tariq, but I'm sure many of you know me as Corn Kid! The last year has been incredible for me and my family. I never knew that loving corn as much as I do could bring so much good into my life. 

It's always been important to me to give back to my community. It makes me sad to think there are kids in NYC who don't have enough to eat. I want to help make a difference and give back to others. 

I am turning 8 years old in May and I didn't ask for any gifts this year. Instead, I want to help kids in need and have partnered with City Harvest to support their Share Lunch Fight Hunger campaign. I have set a goal of raising $8,000 to celebrate my 8th birthday! If I meet my goal,18,400 kids in NYC will get a nutritious meal this summer. In addition to my fundraiser, my friends and I are also going to volunteer at City Harvest this month to pack meals for families in need. I can't think of a better way to celebrate my birthday!
