City Harvest is New York’s first and largest food rescue organization, helping to feed millions of New Yorkers who struggle to put meals on their tables. This year, we will rescue 109 million pounds of fresh, nutritious food and deliver it—free of charge—to more than 400 food pantries, soup kitchens, community partners and our own Mobile Markets across the five boroughs. We work alongside our community partners to boost community capacity, expand nutrition education, and strengthen local food systems. For more than 35 years, City Harvest has always been there to feed our city—one day, one meal, one New Yorker at a time.

WSP USA - NYC DPN is happy to contribute to City Harvest in 2020, as we continue to promote their efforts in this dire time of need. In previous years, our NYC office has participated in the annual design competition "CANstruction". CANstruction is a design/build competition involving teams from the AEC (architecture, engineering, construction) industry, who construct amazing structures made entirely of unopened cans of food. The final design is constructed in one adrenaline-filled night and are then put on display at Brookfield Place in Lower Manhattan and then "de-CANstructed" with all food donations delivered to City Harvest. Last year, our build "The Grand CANal" won most cans, with a whopping 7,554 can donation! This year, in lieu of a physical build night, we continue our efforts towards City Harvest by hosting a virtual fundraiser! Every $1 donated helps City Harvest feed two New Yorkers for a day. By donating, you’ll help keep City Harvest’s trucks on the road and filled with nutritious food for our neighbors in need.
